William has served as Head of Guidance and Career Education at three publicly supported secondary schools in Ontario, Director of Student Services at an independent boys’ school in British Columbia, Assistant Head of School at an independent girls’ school in Ontario, and most recently been School Principal at three private secondary schools comprised of international students. He has also been coordinator of the Advanced Placement (AP) program and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP). William believes in life-long learning and has earned certificates in Solution-Focused Brief Counselling and Co-Active Coaching.

Donna firmly believes in working with the ‘whole’ student and empowering them to reach their potential.

Donna for many years held the position of Head of Guidance and Career Education at a publicly supported secondary school. She earned her Master of Education degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto, and holds Specialist certificates in Guidance and Counselling, Special Education and English as a Second Language. Her experiences ranged from working with students identified with Asperger’s syndrome, to students working toward the International Baccalaureate Diploma or completing the Advanced Placement program in various subject areas. Most recently Donna has been Head of Counselling in a private international high school for students coming to Canada from China. Donna also facilitated the continuing education program for teachers in Guidance and Career Education at Queen’s University. She firmly believes in working with the ‘whole’ student and empowering them to reach their potential.

Lu believes in mentoring and counselling students, to navigate all the possible educational pathways to explore their potentials.

Lu has extensive experience in education, language teaching and student counselling services for more than twenty years. As a guidance counsellor, she has thorough knowledge of Canadian and international secondary school systems. When mentoring and counselling students, she guides them to navigate all the possible educational pathways to explore their potential. An exemplary teacher in both secondary and higher education, she has a deep understanding of pedagogy in diverse environments. After having earned her Master’s Degree in English Language and Literature, she started her teaching career in Tianjin Normal University in China, where she taught English and Linguistics for fourteen years. She has rich experience in preparing international students for a variety of English proficiency tests such as IELTS, TOFEL and Duolingo. Lu is skilled at collaborating with parents to facilitate students’ all-round success. With her professional support and counselling in university applications, many students have been admitted by top universities in Canada, the United States, U.K., Australia and Hong Kong. Lu is fluent in Mandarin and English.

Linda

Linda is passionate for community involvement, volunteering, and looking at education responsiveness moving forward with/after the global pandemic.

Linda has extensive experience in post-secondary pathway planning, graduation coaching, SHSM, Co-op Education, and OYAP. She holds a Master’s degree in Leadership in business and personal coaching. Linda is well-grounded in assisting families and students with IEPs, for learning disabilities, illnesses (including concussions), autism and giftedness. She has her Specialist in Guidance, Co-op and Family Studies. She has been a Guidance and Career Education Head and a resource and classroom teacher in many subject areas, in Ontario publicly supported schools. Linda is passionate for community involvement including, volunteer work for regional Covid19 screening and vaccine rollout, provides support for front-line workers, and serves on University committees surveilling responsiveness to and after the global pandemic. Guidance philosophy: students and parents say Linda is:

Chris has taught at a public elementary school in Alberta where he supported students with multiple exceptionalities. Chris received his Bachelor of Education Degree from Lakehead University and is certified by the Ontario College of Teachers. He holds additional qualifications in both Special Education as well as Guidance and Counselling. Chris has received multiple certificates in mentorship and engages students to take ownership of their academic careers. Chris is a firm believer in active listening and takes a holistic approach to education where students learn about themselves as well as their curriculum.

Susan has worked as a Guidance Counsellor at private schools in Toronto, Mississauga and St. Catharines as well as with a publicly funded school board for many years. She introduced and helped to develop the International Baccalaureate program in one of her schools and spent eight years working with students in the IB program at Branksome Hall. Susan has extensive experience working with students who are applying to universities in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. She believes in strong communication, being well informed and helping students create a strategy for success.

She has 25+ years in education, contributing to the well-being and academic success of many unique students. She has earned her Honors Bachelor of Biological Science Degree from the University of Guelph and holds Specialist certificates in Guidance and Career Education and Biology. Liza has a forward-thinking approach and has experience in supporting students interested in pathways to college, university, work, or apprenticeship. She has an unwavering passion for seeing students succeed.

Cyndi has a solid and diversified background in Guidance and Career Education. She maintained the position of Head of Student Services at three publicly supported Ontario secondary schools for many years. Within this role, Cyndi undertook the delivery of Guidance and Career Education, as well as Special Education and Cooperative Education. She served as an IB counsellor, for students working toward the completion of both the International Baccalaureate Diploma, in addition to the Ontario Secondary Diploma. Her experiences extend beyond assisting students interested in the skilled trades, colleges, and universities within Canada, to the United States and United Kingdom. She worked concurrently as an instructor in the Faculty of Education, Continuing Education at Queen’s University, facilitating Guidance and Career Education and Special Education. Given Cyndi’s athletic interests and background, she has also enjoyed working with students in seeking out athletic scholarships both domestically and internationally. Cyndi’s entire career has encompassed Guidance and Career Education. She is passionate about helping students realize their goals and reach their full potential.

Roma has lived in a few locations within Canada along with living abroad which has allowed her to gather a large variety of educational perspectives. In addition, she has garnered many valuable linguistic and cultural experiences through her studies in both French and Spanish. Roma has earned a B.A, an M.A, a B. Ed and her specialist in Guidance and Career Education. She has taught all grades from 5-12 in multiple disciplines in the Catholic public board and two independent schools. In her role as a guidance counsellor, Roma was able to support students through the process of preparing for AP examinations as well as submitting applications to the OUAC, Common Application and UCAS. Her daughter is currently in Grade 11, so her experience is hands-on in both her professional and personal life. Roma continues to teach and enjoys the opportunity to work with and guide young people.

John has served for over 35 years at all levels of the education system in Manitoba. In his wide-ranging career, John has been a middle and senior years classroom teacher, resource teacher, school division support teacher for information and communication technologies, Director of Administrative Services, acting Principal, Vice Principal, University instructor, and Guidance Counsellor. In his most recent role as Department Head of Student Support Services at a diverse, adult public high school, John utilizes his extensive counselling experience, administrative knowledge, and training in cognitive coaching to guide and assist students in their post-secondary decision making. As a four-time graduate of the University of Manitoba, and the holder of specialist certificates, John is a firm believer in lifelong learning. John has extensive experience in supporting new Canadians of all ages as they navigate through the complexities of the Manitoba education system and he believes that all learners can be empowered through effective counselling supports in order to achieve their full potential.

Stephanie has been working in the guidance and student success field for many years and is currently a teacher working for the Toronto Catholic District School Board. Holding specialists in Guidance and Counselling, Special Education, and the Social Sciences, she has a wide range of experience with speciality programs including Intensive Support Programming (ISP), the International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP), French Immersion/Extended, SHSM, and OYAP. Stephanie also has extensive experience working with student athletes who are applying to universities in both Canada and the United States. She sees her role as not only providing answers but encouraging students to ask the important questions. Stephanie believes it’s essential that her approach is tailored to the specific learning needs of each student.
